Melrose Little League proudly announces the recipients of the 2022 MLL Little League Scholarship.
The 2022 Melrose Little League Scholarship recipients are Drew Harrington, Sean Thomas and Jack Merullo.
The Class President of Melrose High School class of 2022, Drew Harrington graduated with Excellence and won multiple Senior Night Academic Awards. During his time at Melrose High, Drew was a member of the National Honor Society and the Basketball and Baseball teams. This spring he helped lead the baseball team to a State Tournament appearance as the. Drew will be attending the University of Connecticut this fall where he will major in Finance.

Sean Thomas made his mark at Melrose High School in the classroom and on the field of play. He was a member of the Wrestling and Baseball Teams at MHS. As a two time Wrestling Captain, Sean led the team to two Massachusetts State Championships He was an also an individual State Champion in 2020 and a State Runner Up in 2022. Sean plans to wrestle and pursue a degree in Business or Finance at Trinity College (CT).

Another Melrose High School graduate, Jack Merullo, embodies the spirit of this award. Jack was a member of the National Honor Society, a representative in the student government and he participated in the high school orchestra. Next Jack will attend Endicott College where he plans to study Business Management.

Melrose Little League seeks to implant firmly in the children of Melrose the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, teamwork and respect for authority through wholesome and effective leadership in the disciplines of baseball so that they may be well adjusted, stronger, happier children and those that will grow to be good, decent, healthy and trustworthy citizens.
In an effort to recognize those children who have been members of Melrose Little League and who have continued to demonstrate a commitment to our Melrose community, while advancing their education and the ideals of our League, Melrose Little League has established an annual one time scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00. This will be awarded to two eligible and deserving student scholarship applicants.
